The History of olive oil date way back. Over the centuries, varied uses have been made of both the branches and the fruit. Olive Oil has been more than just a food for people, being also used for medicinal purposes. There are numerous references to the olive in the Bible. The olive tree was, and still remains, a symbol of abundance, glory and peace, and its leafy branches were used to crown the victorious. The Bible tells us that the dove brought an olive branch back to Noah in the Ark, which proved that the floods were subsiding, and ever since then the olive branch has been a symbol of peace and goodwill. In the land of the Hebrews, King Solomon and King David placed great importance on the cultivation of olive groves and even appointed guards to protect the trees.
